This essay focuses on the “richness” of the family in a time of crisis and deprivation: during social crisis values as well as those things that really matter and that are worth investing in and sacrifice for become more evident. The authors claim that is important to gather personal, family and intersubjective resources, in order to promote human, family and social capital. This is what the new generations need and this way our society will develop a sustainable and livable future. Therefore, it is crucial to have access, also through reflectivity, to this new lymph that is constantly stemming from family relations and history: this way innovation, generated within family relations, can burst on the social scene and remain well anchored to the real experience of life.
