Abstract:
This paper examines the fragmented state of physical and sporting activity (PSA) in schools, arguing for an integrated, equity-centered approach. Historically shaped by shifting ideologies, PSA has become compartmentalized, peretuating systemic inequities. The study high-lights the necessary synergy between physical education, play, and sport to promote holistic development. Contemporary challenges, including persistent inequities and technology integration, reveal the consequences of fragmentation. The paper concludes that only through a comprehensive, evidence-based framework can schools realize PSA's transformative potential for all students.
