YOUNG & MEANINGFUL: developing a personalized meaning-making intervention for the prevention of late adolescents’ risk of becoming NEETs through inclusive and fair methodologies
Project The project intends to develop a personalized intervention that promotes the construction of meaning in life (meaning-making) for adolescents. This intervention aims to guide adolescents towards building a meaningful life project, preventing the risk of school dropout and becoming NEET. In the first study, a semi-automated procedure will be developed to profile adolescents based on their perception of being in search of and perceiving meaning in life. Inclusive procedures and statistical methods will be implemented to enhance the diversity of adolescents in terms of socio-cultural background and risk factors. In the second study, Young & Meaningful will be designed, an experiential intervention that can be adapted to the profile of each adolescent based on their needs and developmental characteristics. The feasibility and effectiveness of the intervention will be tested in an intensive experimental study.
