LA MEDIAZIONE INTERGENERAZIONALE A BENEFICIO DEI GENITORI ANZIANI

The paper illustrates a new application of the mediation of family disputes, according to the symbolic-relational approach. It is the intervention in conflicts that arise within the family when it is necessary to take care of an elderly parent. It was developed and tested in recent years by a working group headed by the Centre for Studies and Research on the Family at the Catholic University of Milan and it is distinguished by the attention paid to the intergenerational dimensions. In the contribution we present a case study, typical of social work. We illustrate then the stages of mediation's process between generations and some of his techniques and, finally, we discuss some problematic issues.
