Abstract:
The path of international adoption is considered to be the result of a family choice that expresses a great oblation and brings deep joy. It is the culmination of couple’s generative desire and represents a possible existential ransom for a child left alone. The biographies of adoptive families, however, don’t just present these aspects, they are also marked by relational problems, fears and uncertainties, recalling the importance of an adequate educational support. In the case of adoptive experience, the dynamics of inheritance processing, roots knowledge and the building of a sense of belonging are particularly sensitive and complex. In order to face the educational challenges involving the adoptive family, it is important to enhance the "work of memory". The discovery of the past can help to develop the filiation process which, in the case of adoption, has to deal with gaps and absences and, subsequently, it must be built on bonds which are not of blood.
